But, when you already feel like the older camera is no longer able to keep up with your skills, it is wise to start investing on the higher options or upgrading the camera to meet the job.

While slightly newer, XT200 was launched in the same year as the EM10 Mark IV or in 2020. As you can see, design wise the two are already quite different from each other. The cameras are still compact and they have this retro styling too. The width seems to be slightly wider on the EM10 Mark IV but the height of these two are the same. The control layout is slightly different too but both are still very easy to use and in comparison XT200 seems to be the more modern one.
What we love the most from the design is XT200’s rotating rear display and while it may seem not as important for some, we highly appreciated being able to monitor and use the camera to shoot a self-recording. Some OMD EM series already use a rotating screen while for this EM10 IV th display is tilting and can be folded. In addition, navigating menu in XT200 is mostly done by the touch-screen which means less buttons to press and this camera is surprisingly lighter as well. Moving to the most important part, let’s see what the Olympus OMD EM10 Mark IV and Fujifilm XT200 can offer starting from the basic specs. As it has been mentioned above, the core of these cameras are already different with EM10 Mark IV still using four thirds sensor while the latter is an APS-C model. The pixel count is increased however, compared to the older models or from 16MP to 20MP but XT200 is 24MP to accommodate its bigger sensor.

They also perform well in high ISO and start to lose details around the same stop.
What makes shooting with EM10 Mark IV better is probably with its built-in image stabilization feature missing from XT200 which is great for handheld application and to enjoy the same advantage we may need to have stabilized lens with the latter.

Lastly for the hybrid shooters who will use Olympus OMD EM10 Mark IV and Fujifilm XT200 for recording as well, the two are recording at 4K 30fps already. But, only XT200 comes with an extension for adding your own microphone and this is necessary to improve audio quality because there is only so much a built-in mic can offer. XT200 is also featured with a headphone jack and USB 2.0 port. For the casual application these cameras have wireless technology and can be used with remote too.
