Olympus camera models are certainly among the best choices currently available on the market. For an entry-level mirrorless camera, the company has gained a considerable success with Olympus E-M10. The model is loved because of its premium looks, rugged body, and superior performance. However, in order to keep up with the harsh competition, the company has released an update model for it, Olympus E-M10 Mark II. Improved Design
In just a few glances, you may not be able to notice the improvement immediately, but Olympus E-M10 II indeed comes with an improved design. The two models are roughly of the same size and weight, still, but there are some changes in the layouts. There are some additional dials and buttons, and these additions reflect that the new model comes with more features. Also, Olympus E-M10 II still retains the touchscreen control as well as the electronic viewfinder. However, the resolution of the EVF is now better. While the original Olympus E-M10 has 1440k dot EVF, Olympus E-M10 II has been packed with 2360k dot EVF. Thus, the visual of the EVF becomes sharper and more detailed, allowing for a more convenient framing.

Added Features
As mentioned before, Olympus E-M10 II comes with more features. These features include the silent shutter mode, in which the camera will be able to take shots quietly using the electronic shutter. There is also focus bracketing feature, through which the camera will be able to take multiple pictures with shifting focus point. Such feature can be great for taking pictures of moving objects. Also, Olympus E-M10 II now allows you to pinpoint the focus point using the AF targeting pad on the touchscreen.
The original Olympus E-M10 only has a maximum shutter speed of 1/4,000s. Olympus E-M10 II has been enhanced with a better shutter with a maximum shutter speed of 1/16,000s. Combined with the 8-fps photo burst capability, Olympus E-M10 II becomes very versatile, as well as becoming more ready for sports photography.
About the image quality, Olympus E-M10 II still uses the same 16MP Micro Four Thirds CMOS sensor. Or video recording, the maximum resolution is still Full HD 1920 x 1080. However, Olympus E-M10 II now supports high-speed video recording with 120fps at VGA resolution.
Olympus E-M10 vs E-M10 II
Olympus E-M10 II is a decent improvement from Olympus E-M10. The higher shutter speed and the smarter AF system are the main reasons to choose Olympus E-M10 II, while the other additional features indeed become nice plus points.
