However, they are not a new model anymore because currently they are already more than 3 years old and Canon has released the new step up with their T7i which is taking the entry-level start point to compete with its competitor from the other manufacturers yet, these two are still worth the price especially for user who are not ready to spend more. What you may want to know is these model called as T6 and T6i in the US but outside, they are actually called as 750D and 760D so don’t be confused when seeing a similar item.
Both of them may look similar in a glance but when you pay attention more further, they are actually quite different and in comparison the T6i is more similar to the other version T6s rather than the original T6 and is a higher version, not just one step but probably two step higher than its lower version. In design they are quite similar to the T5 model and the body is textured with a certain coating as well as have chunky front grip and rear thumb rest.
The control or menu is accessed with the “Q” or quick menu button to view and adjust commonly used setting that we can see clearly through their 3-inch LCD screen which is very vibrant and pleasant to eyes but when you see closely, the one on T6i can be adjusted so user can capture image in different angle featured with touch sensitive screen unlike the fixed, regular screen on T6.

When you compare the image result from both cameras side by side, the difference in quality is easily seen because the T6i is a huge leap from the lower version and we can see that its detail is even greater yet, somehow the noise level stays the same despite the high upgrade pixel on its sensor. They are also using the same iFCL metering system that grouped into 63 segments with the same evaluation options of Evaluative, Centre-weighted, Partial and Spot metering yet, the partial and Spot coverage seem to be more precise.
When you turn off the noise reduction from the raw files both of Canon EOS Rebel T6 and T6i have more visible noise viewed at 100% yet, the gained is fine and there is no banding so we still capable of producing images with a better quality than when using JPEGs. These two models have the same ISO range up to 12800 to allow user take pictures without flash under low light condition.
But, when using them for raw pictures, the image still good with ISO 3200 viewed at 100% yet, it won’t be a real problem until reaching the top limit. The next may not related to the image quality but still important for additional convenience for those who need to work fast because both of these models are already featured with WI-Fi and NFC connectivity which mean we can connect them to a device like smartphone or tablet to transfer files without using cable data.

The last but not least from Canon EOS Rebel T6 and T6i is their video resolution since while we don’t particularly purchase them to take moving footage, it will come in handy when you also need to record something along the way and they have the same capability to record footage at HD resolution in 1080p which should be enough for personal use yet, we do feel a little bit disappointed to see that T6i is not yet capable of offering 4K.

Now, let’s compare Canon EOS Rebel T6 with T6i. As you may already know, the difference between both of them are prominently between the sensor and image processing technology as well as the screen because in general the T6i is a better model to give you a better image quality and convenience when it comes to finding an angle to capture images yet, it doesn’t mean the T6 is a bad camera.
